Usama Usman is an Electrical Engineer and energy policy professional based in Islamabad. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. Usama has worked as a Power System Design Engineer at Engineers Guild (Pvt) Ltd., collaborating with NTDC on power system planning, transmission line design, and grid connection studies using PLS-CADD and PSS/E. He has also served as an Electrical Instructor at MK Government College of Technology, Narowal under TEVTA, and completed technical internships at PAC Kamra and Rescue 1122.Usma was selected as one of 12 scholars for USAID’s Empower All Energy Program. He has completed fellowships with the Margalla School on Energy and Climate, the Eco Friend Global Movement, and the LUMS Two Cultures Fellowship.His areas of interest include power system planning, HV transmission line design, reactive power compensation, and renewable energy integration. Usma has authored and co-authored 4 research papers published in IEEE, including work on intelligent protection systems, battery energy storage control, supercapacitor cell balancing, and HV transmission line performance under variable weather conditions.
